The Cabin on Cox Creek is ideally situated along the Missouri River, just a minute’s drive off the frontage road (Old US Hiway 91) that abuts the river, seven miles downstream from Craig. This hand hewn log home, originally built in the 1930’s, has amazing interior craftsmanship, and gives you a quiet, relaxed, and comfortable setting far enough from the river to eliminate the noise, but close enough to be on the water in a matter of minutes. Perfect accommodations for up to four guests, providing all the creature comforts and amenities of rustic living (including wifi, phone and air conditioning!), this clean and spacious one bedroom, one bath, “mini lodge” has more than ample room to relax and enjoy your time after your day on the River. Bathroom has hotel style soaps and shampoos setup. Coffee and filters provided as basic service. The front deck overlooks the private trout pond (no fishing please). There are also chairs and table down by the pond. Fly tying table with some materials and tools available for use.
Access to River fishing from The Cabin is easy; walking back down Cox Creek Lane and across the Frontage Road will put you on the stream in a matter of a few minutes. Additionally, the Mountain Palace boat access is only three miles downriver from your land base.
This property is the guesthouse to Hidden View Estate (VRBO #963663), combined, the properties can accommodate up to 10-12 guests. Rented separately, Hidden View Estate has 6 person individual maximum, or 4 couples, and The Cabin on Cox Creek 4 person maximum.
Entering the Cabin, you encounter a foyer area which includes a futon/full bed for a third guest if needed. Walking forward in to the main living area, you will immediately face the original rock fireplace and mantle(converted to gas), multiple seating options, 50″ flat screen TV (not a bad seat in the house), a fly tying table for your convenience, and another futon/full bed along the exterior wall to accommodate a fourth guest. Upon closer scrutiny, you will also notice and appreciate all the rustic details that make this “gingerbread cabin” truly an unique Montana experience.
Immediately to your left is a short hallway leading to the bathroom and further is the bedroom with two super twin beds. Also in the hallway is the back door accessing the Weber gas grill and a bench and hangers for wet waders to dry. The kitchen, just to the side of the hall, has all amenities to prepare meals for yourself, including Starbucks coffee for your morning wake up.
